Fashion is a form of expression that goes beyond fleeting trends and clothing itself. It is capable of telling stories, transmitting values and reflecting the essence of those who create it. In this context, the Tâmara brand emerges as a notable example of slow fashion, an approach that values careful and conscious processes in the construction of clothes. This unique brand is intrinsically linked to the roots and artistic interests of the designer behind it.

The history of Tâmara goes back to the designer's own past, whose inspirations come from the family tradition linked to sewing, craftsmanship and art. From an early age, the influence of the women in his family awakened his interest in these practices, creating a deep bond with his heritage. The slow fashion proposal fits this trajectory perfectly, considering that the creative processes in the interior, where it grew up, are already following a more relaxed and attentive pace. The memory of a cotton ball in your farm reinforces this connection with the essential raw material for making clothes.

The designer's childhood was marked by the making of clothes made by her mother and other skilled seamstresses.

Each piece was unique and carried with it the thrill of actively participating in its creation process. The choice of fabric, the model, the adjustments and the anxiety to see the finished piece became fundamental elements in his trajectory. These experiences awakened her passion for fashion and led her to explore the world of design and sewing.

With an academic background in theater, the designer had the opportunity to act as a costume designer, which became the starting point for the creation of her first brand, Grata à Luz. Through a self-taught process, she learned to make unique pieces, experimenting with different models, fabrics and molds. Her search for references and knowledge led her to the Fashion Museum, where she delved into the history of fashion and the techniques of renowned designers.

Later, in Belo Horizonte, the designer decided to improve her skills and joined a practical modeling course at Senac. This course allowed her to further explore the process of constructing the pieces, involving research, design, modeling, and production. In developing the Tâmara brand, the designer found inspiration in moments of recollection and introspection, as well as the departure of her grandmother, which had a significant emotional impact on her life. By inheriting possessions related to her grandmother's love for sewing, such as silver scissors and carefully crafted clothes, the designer found the motivation to start a new brand that was a direct expression of her identity, her roots, and her life choices aligned with slow living.

One of its strongest values is its contribution to collective well-being. She feels uncomfortable when her activities don't have a positive impact on the whole. In this sense, the philosophy of slow fashion fits perfectly, as it promotes conscious consumption and sustainable and artisanal practices. The construction of the Tâmara pieces reflects these values, from the careful choice of fabrics from a Brazilian company committed to environmental sustainability to the use of dyes and auxiliary products that meet strict safety certifications and the absence of harmful substances.

The brand's sewing team is local, comprised of a family that receives fair payment for their work and has respected deadlines. The details of the pieces are also made with care and dedication. The buttons are made of ceramic by the ceramist Leila Martins, while the embroideries are handmade by the textile artist Isadora Falcão. Even the packages are handmade, using paper and fabric, and the tags are plantable, containing seeds in their composition.

The brand name, Tâmara, is a meaningful and personal choice. Since her childhood, the designer has been known by this name and decided to adopt it for her brand, as she feels a deep connection with it. The name Tamara not only evokes the sweetness of a fruit, but it also symbolizes the patience and dedication required to cultivate a tree that takes decades to bear fruit. In the same way, she knows that habit changes and results will only be achieved gradually.

In creating the Tâmara brand, she found a way to channel her energy and focus into something she believes in. Through slow fashion, she is able to express her identity, value her roots, contribute to the fashion industry in a conscious way and tell unique stories through her pieces. Tâmara is more than a clothing brand, it's a creative journey that seeks to inspire others to adopt a more conscious and meaningful approach to fashion.

After a journey filled with personal and professional transformations, today the brand found a home at the Ronaldo Fraga Hotel in Belo Horizonte and at Bemglô in São Paulo.
