Architect Lucas Carrara makes his first foray into CASACOR São Paulo 2026 with the Tramas e Transbordos space, a 35-square-meter living space built as a tribute to Latin America. The show, the largest in the Americas for architecture, interior design and landscaping, occupies the Parque da Água Branca, in São Paulo, from June 2 to August 9.

Born in São José do Rio Preto, Carrara built a space that works as an island of comfort and contemplation. The project invites a pause before a precise curation: artworks, objects, books and furniture that evoke Latin American cultural diversity. Wood emerges as a structuring element, in dialogue with expressive fabrics and fashion references.

The name articulates two dimensions. The weaves (tramas) represent the organization and thinking that structure the space: layers that dress and build identity. The overflow (transbordo), in turn, reveals what escapes any containment: memory, gesture, affection and the living culture of Latin American everyday life.

Among the elements that give shape to the proposal, the contemporary reinterpretation of the folding metal chair stands out, a symbol of informal gatherings on Brazilian streets. The piece receives an application of polyester resin on the seat and backrest, the work of By Poli, which resignifies a popular object through a shift in context.

The curved shelves hold books by Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Isabel Allende and Jorge Amado, as well as publications on Ayrton Senna and Sebastião Salgado. Works by contemporary artists complete the room, with a highlight on the stained-glass piece made of hand-painted porcelain plates.
