Amaro Freitas plays a free concert at CCBB SP within Atlântico Sertão

At CCBB São Paulo, pianist and composer from Pernambuco Amaro Freitas gives a special performance integrated into the program of the Atlântico Sertão exhibition. On June 3, Wednesday, from 7pm, he plays his repertoire before the work of biarritzzz, on the building's ground floor, in a sensory dialogue between sound and exhibition space. Admission is free.

Freitas was born in 1991, in Recife, and began his musical path at age 12. He built a language of his own at the piano, marked by rhythmic experimentation and a connection to Northeastern traditions. Along the way, he released albums such as Sangue Negro (2016), Rasif (2018), Sankofa (2021) and Y'Y (2024), the latter responsible for projecting his name internationally.

In 2026, he won the Paul Acket Award, one of the most respected distinctions in international jazz. The Atlântico Sertão exhibition remains on view at CCBB SP until August 3.
