This Sunday (May 31), KondZilla, Brazil's biggest funk producer and channel, turned 15. What began as a YouTube channel, a camera in hand and funk as a starting point, grew into one of the most influential companies in Brazil's creative industry, today present in audiovisual, advertising, series, film, events and technology.

Over a decade and a half, KondZilla helped turn funk into a global phenomenon, taking artists from the periphery to stages around the world. For Tico Fernandes, creative director, the date means more than a round number. "In 15 years, a child becomes a teenager. Leaves childhood, discovers the world, forms tastes. In some way, our story went through that process too," he says.

"KondZilla was there. In headphones, speakers, street parties, phones, across Brazil and beyond," the director recalls. It came of age, but without giving up the essence of the streets that gave it birth.
