Casa de Criadores n56: Ale Brito

Ale Brito returns to Casa de Criadores with a collection that marks not only his presence on the runway, but a new moment in his path as a Brazilian designer. A graduate of Central Saint Martins in London, Ale is one of the few Brazilian names to have passed through the atelier of Alexander McQueen, where he interned and later worked as a designer. Those experiences were decisive in deepening his technical eye, bringing a new understanding of the construction of pieces, of cut, of pattern and of visual language.

Training in the London circuit further strengthened the signature Ale had already been developing in Brazil since his early years. Launched by Casa de Criadores, the designer always carried a hybrid aesthetic between tailoring and urban language, known for putting the sexy under tension, rebuilding volumes and experimenting with pieces of immediate appeal and refined structure. His collections have circulated through editorials in the country's main fashion magazines, including Elle, Vogue, L'Officiel, Marie Claire, FFW MAG and i-D Magazine, and he has dressed figures such as Carol Trentini, Rita Lee and Anitta.

The new collection presented at Casa de Criadores reveals a more mature and sophisticated eye, the fruit of years devoted to technique and to building a language. The partnership with Studio 115 strengthens that moment, bringing to the runway pieces developed with tailoring precision and an imagery repertoire that starts from references of the British Victorian era, such as structured corsets, metal crinolines and puffed sleeves, reinterpreted freely, contemporarily and functionally. The long, fluid dresses do not seek to reinforce stereotypes, but to suggest freedom of movement and respect for the forms of the body in the present. Structured coats, high-waisted trousers and shirts with geometric cuts point to the strength of an authorial aesthetic built on solid foundations.

The creative proposal starts from wishes and images recurring in the designer's unconscious. Instead of following a closed theme, Ale uses the runway as a field of experiment. The collection tests cuts, explores proportions and revisits the classic men's wardrobe, suit, shirt and trousers, through an approach that values the fall and the mobility of the pieces. The result is a balance between structure and fluidity, tradition and transgression, where tailoring shows itself not as formality, but as living language.

Ale Brito has also accumulated experience in the commercial market. He worked for years on the style team at Ellus, coordinating collections for retail, wholesale, import and e-commerce. He has signed collaborations with C&A, Chili Beans and Riachuelo, and more recently led the style direction of Shop Ginger, the label of Marina Ruy Barbosa. Among his work, he has also developed costumes and editorials with brands and artists in branding, styling and creative consultancy projects.

His return to the runway at this moment is marked by a clear intention: to reconnect with fashion as language, as experiment and as proposition. Rather than following trends, Ale proposes possibilities. His collection does not seek to please immediately, but to provoke, to test proportions, to challenge visual comfort and to reveal his technical capacity in cut, finish and construction.

Alongside Studio 115, he also reinforces a political and social position. The partnership highlights the importance of valuing national labour, independent ateliers and Brazilian seamstresses, pattern cutters and craftspeople.
