On 27 and 28 September, Galeria Metrópole hosts the project Design Coletivo, an initiative of Feira na Rosenbaum that opens a format aimed at experiment and at making room for new languages in Brazilian design. The curation brings together around 50 exhibitors of furniture, ceramics, objects and visual arts, with a large number of newcomers showing alongside established names.
The proposal is part of the programme of Design na Metrópole, which has been turning the modernist building in central São Paulo into a hub of creation and diffusion, opening ateliers and studios for launches and public activities.

A space of encounter
The project is led by a team that brings together different experiences. Cris Rosenbaum, co-founder and curator of Feira na Rosenbaum, acts as mentor, while the curation is by Micha D’Angelo, an architect and visual creative who has been developing curatorial research at the fair for more than four years. Executive production is by Luis Guido, an entrepreneur and ceramicist who founded Call Jim!, and who brings his practice to the articulation between creators and public.
More than an exhibition, Design Coletivo proposes a space of circulation between works and visitors. The set design, conceived in dialogue with the pieces, seeks to dissolve borders between the individual and the collective, turning the space into a field of exchange.

A diversity of paths
The selection presents a wide range of proposals. In furniture, studios such as Vital Oficina, Urtiga., Casa Reina and Henrique Nini Estúdio appear. In ceramics, names such as Céu de Barro, Ju Wimmers and Naka Cerâmica are joined by new participants, among them Conko and Libero. In the field of objects and tapestry, Maria Nuvem, Iro Studio, We Studio and Bruna Octaviano stand out. There is also room for artistic practice with initiatives such as Znort, Mateus Mudat and Trama Afetiva.
That diversity reflects the intention of widening the range of perspectives and giving visibility to distinct paths, bringing the public closer to work that does not confine itself to conventional formats.

Continuity and mission
Since its creation in 2012, Feira na Rosenbaum has established itself as a platform for the diffusion of national design, connecting artists, craftspeople and independent designers. Known for sustainable initiatives and for its commitment to valuing authorial production, the fair now widens its scope with Design Coletivo, reinforcing the purpose of opening space for new figures and paths.
For Cris Rosenbaum, the project is a gesture of continuity. “It is a way of widening our view and feeding the cycle of design in Brazil, allowing diverse voices to be present in the larger editions too”, she says. Micha D’Angelo adds: “We look for projects that bring freshness and identity, that surprise by escaping the obvious path. This format is born precisely from that energy of discovery.”
