DW! 2025: Hands and Machines

The 14th edition of DW! São Paulo Design Week is about to turn the city into an epicentre of creativity, innovation and strategic connections. From 10 to 16 March 2025, the event brings together professionals, brands and creatives to discuss the future of design and architecture in Latin America. With the theme “Hands and Machines”, this year's edition proposes a reflection on the collaboration between artisanal expression and technological advance.

Plural and connected Design

Created in 2012 by the entrepreneur Lauro Andrade, DW! has established itself as the main platform for design and architecture in Brazil and Latin America. In its last edition, the event drew more than 100,000 visitors, 80% of them professionals in the sector, who took part in more than 367 activities and explored the projects of 143 exhibitors. The expectation for 2025 is to surpass those numbers, driving interaction between different agents of the productive and creative chain.

The programme takes in exhibitions, launches, workshops, talks, guided visits, creative economy fairs and immersive experiences. Following tradition, most attractions will be free, making the event accessible to different audiences. Among the notable venues are Galeria Metrópole, D&D Shopping and the Barra Funda and Pinheiros circuits, which bring together independent studios and emerging design talent.

Reflections and trends in contemporary design

With the theme “Hands and Machines”, DW! 2025 proposes an essential dialogue about the coexistence of manual work and technological innovation. “Our focus will be to discuss that interaction, so that we can think beyond apparently conflicting aspects. Designers can work in partnership with new technologies, creating languages that mix technological advance and the sensitivity of manual work, without one technique cancelling the other”, says Andrade.

The DW! Talks, held at Casa Docol, will be the space for deepening those discussions, bringing together specialists to debate the intersections of craft and artificial intelligence, sustainability and industrial production, among other emerging themes.

A hub of opportunity for the sector

DW! SP not only anticipates trends, it also drives the sector by connecting brands, designers and architects to a highly qualified public. In 2024, the event's digital actions reached 24 million impressions and 840,000 interactions, generating strategic visibility for participants and exhibitors.

For 2025, new editions of Feira na Rosenbaum and BoomSPDesign are confirmed, alongside the Circuito de Arte e Design Digital on Alameda Gabriel. With design districts spread across São Paulo, the event also drives tourism, bringing business to restaurants, hotels and cultural spaces.

The future of design runs through DW!

According to Andrade, DW! rests on three essential pillars: Brazilian creativity, the country's entrepreneurial strength and biodiversity as a distinguishing feature. “Our intention is that the ideas discussed here expand and bring about significant change in the sector”, the CEO stresses.

At a moment when technology becomes ever more present in every sphere of life, DW! 2025 establishes itself as an essential space for debating how innovation can walk side by side with tradition, creativity and Brazilian identity.
