Lacoste presented its Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection during Paris Fashion Week, in a show held on the Philippe Chatrier court, at the Roland Garros complex. Under the creative direction of Pelagia Kolotouros, the presentation drew inspiration from a historical episode linked to the founder René Lacoste, connecting sports, memory, and functionality in the development of the collection.
The inspiration came from a Copa Davis match played in Deauville in 1923. During the game between René Lacoste and the Spanish player Manuel de Gomar, a storm interrupted the match and forced players and spectators to use umbrellas, trench coats, and rain capes while waiting for the game to resume. The episode ultimately became a symbol of the relationship between sports and resistance to weather conditions, an idea that guided the narrative of the collection presented in Paris.

This historical reference also appeared in the setting of the show. The court and the stands were covered by a large ocher tarpaulin similar to those used to protect the clay courts from rain. The ambiance reinforced the collection's climate theme, which explores pieces designed to withstand different weather conditions, with a focus on trench coats, ponchos inspired by the polo shirt, and waterproof technical pieces developed in collaboration with the British brand Mackintosh, known for its use of waterproof fabrics since the 19th century.

Throughout the collection, Pelagia Kolotouros also introduced references to 1980s sportswear through voluminous silhouettes, technical nylon, and new interpretations of the brand's classic pieces. The color palette accompanies this narrative, combining dark and metallic tones with green and red that evoke the grass and clay of Roland Garros after the rain.

Within this aesthetic context, the brand also presents new versions of the Lacoste Spinor sneaker, a model that explores a more experimental approach to shoe design by the French house. The sneaker stands out for its voluminous midsole with a wavy design and the A.D.S. (Absorption De Shock) technology, developed to offer cushioning and lightness. The upper combines technical materials such as breathable mesh, jacquard, and nobuck, in addition to chromatic variations that transition between monochromatic tones and gradients.

Founded in 1933 by René Lacoste and André Gillier, Lacoste has built its identity at the intersection of sports and style. Over the past few years, the brand has reinforced its presence at Paris Fashion Week and expanded its role in the luxury sportswear territory, bringing its sports legacy closer to a contemporary language that dialogues with both technical design and urban culture.
