MIS extends exhibition on Jung after 73 thousand visitors

The exhibition “The Human Soul, You, and Jung's Universe”, currently on display at the Museum of Image and Sound in São Paulo, has surpassed the mark of 73,000 visitors and has been extended until March 22, 2026. Dedicated to the legacy of Carl Gustav Jung, the exhibition occupies 550 m² and proposes an experience that combines educational content, sensory installations, and stimuli for individual reflection.

Created by Luciana Branco, Flavio Vieira, and Camila Whitaker, with curatorship by the IJEP – Jungian Institute of Education and Research, the exhibition is part of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of Jung's birth, commemorated in 2025. The Swiss psychiatrist, who visited over 15 countries during eight decades of research, developed concepts such as the collective unconscious, the foundation of Jungian psychology and a point of distinction from the Freudian tradition.

The exhibition organizes the exhibition route into three complementary dimensions. The first is pedagogical, with accessible explanations of central concepts in Jung's work. The second is sensory, through installations that activate visual and spatial stimuli. The third is provocative, structured around questions directed at the visitor, inviting introspection. The proposal directly engages with the current global mental health crisis scenario, positioning self-knowledge as a tool for individual and collective understanding.

The audience's response reinforces the interest in exhibitions that combine academic content, accessible language, and immersive experiences. In a context where museums compete for attention with digital platforms and on-demand entertainment, initiatives that articulate education, culture, and physical experience tend to broaden institutional relevance. The prolonged stay of the exhibition at the Museu da Imagem e do Som signals this movement.

The programming is carried out by the Ministry of Culture and the Government of the State of São Paulo, through the Secretariat of Culture, Economy and Creative Industries, under the Federal Law of Incentive to Culture. The exhibition is partnered with Weleda and has institutional support from Editora Vozes, Instituto Focus Têxtil, Associação Junguiana do Brasil, in addition to media support from UOL and JCDecaux.
