The past projected onto now: LINI presents “Eras” at the Memorial da América Latina

Last Wednesday the 23rd, the label LINI presented its new collection at the Simón Bolívar Auditorium, in the Memorial da América Latina. Titled Eras, the show occupied the stage like a film scene. The soundtrack, the star casting and the brutalist architecture of the space created a dense atmosphere, where fashion and memory intertwined without nostalgia.

The collection starts from an enquiry into the feminine, reflected through the lens of the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema. But instead of staging an idealised past, the proposal rests on movement, between the black and white of silent cinema and the colours that later reached the screen, between silence and gesture, between the rigidity of classical tailoring and the fluidity of dresses that escape form.

The pieces put codes under tension: elongated blazers that become dresses, structured shirts that reveal slits, shine that emerges from restrained cuts. LINI takes up the language of cinema to speak of the woman of now, a plural figure with presence and autonomy. These are not archetypes, but states of mind.

The show featured notable names of Brazilian fashion, such as Celina Locks, who returned to the runway after a decade, Isabeli Fontana, Daiane Conterato, Vivi Orth and Gianne Albertoni. The choice of cast reinforces the label's intention of highlighting women of personality and of history.

Founded by Aline Guella and Eduardo Faci, LINI has been establishing itself as a label that articulates fashion, narrative and behaviour. Eras is the third chapter of that construction and perhaps the most precise so far. With a repertoire that runs from workwear to the party dress, the label reaffirms its interest in pieces that accompany real life, without giving up an authorial point of view.

LINI honours not only the glamour of the divas of cinema: it also honours the Brazilian woman who, today, occupies new stages. The collection does not seek a return to the past, but a reunion with it, with eyes that see fashion as a living language, capable of giving new meaning to symbols, textures and gestures. Between one era and another, what remains is the desire for expression.
