Curled Faces Studios: a cycle between habit and creation

Gabriel Santos, known as Magrão, turns lived experience into visual language. Born in São Paulo, the 26-year-old artist opens a new creative cycle with the collection “Coffee, Lots of Plants and Orange”, presented by his own label, Curled Faces Studios.

His path in art began seven years ago, marked by the encounter with the work of Takashi Murakami. That contact opened a desire: to build an expression of his own, aligned with experiences that found no place in conventional formats.

During a period of emotional exhaustion, Magrão gave shape to his first series, “A Minha Arte Me Salva”, the starting point of a continuous production that takes daily life as its material.
The new collection starts from an intimate change. Coffee first thing, plants in the room, the constant presence of the colour orange, simple but structuring elements, become the centre of an enquiry into time, body and habit. They are compositions that cross the visual field and touch the sensitive.

Through Curled Faces, Magrão proposes a widened listening to ordinary life, where aesthetics and process do not separate. Each work reveals a layer of the present: not as linear narrative, but as living fragment.
