RioFW 2026: Angela Brito

The show, staged at Píer Mauá, was not intended to be merely a clothing showcase but a sensory experience that uses urban complexity as a creative territory for a new aesthetic language. What unfolded was a translation of a city of excesses, where constant heat and intense light are processed through the construction rigor that defines the label. There is a social intelligence in this project that maps flows and encounters, sustaining joy as a method to inhabit the contradictions of asphalt and nature.

The colour palette follows a sedimentation path, where browns, greys and blues evoke stone, earth and water, establishing a mineral base for the design. This sobriety is suddenly crossed by incidences of purple, butter‑yellow and green, colours that reflect the unexpected vegetation that insists on sprouting in the cracks of Rio’s architecture. Here, colour functions as a reflection of the accumulated landscape on the streets, where saturation and light operate in constant friction. This chromatic choice is not random; it underpins the narrative of a layered city that the brand seeks to strip away, unveiling the skin as a space where the territory manifests.

The collection reveals an exposure movement through strategic cutouts that show more skin, integrating the body with the city’s solar rhythm. The body ceases to be merely a support and becomes part of the dialogue between tradition and avant‑garde, where the brand cultivates a new sensoriality based on manual gesture. The collaboration of eight artisans resulted in elements carved from reclaimed wood, wire structures and straw crochet dyed naturally, giving the pieces an almost sculptural dimension.

The use of braided leather skirts and structured bikinis reinforces this rigorous aesthetic construction, balancing minimalism with the power of a real story. Accessories stand out for their ability to synthesize the design: bags in saturated blue and necklaces that evoke organic wooden shapes translate urban chaos into objects of desire. Each material was chosen to add comfort and sophistication, reaffirming Angela Brito's commitment to a locally handmade product from the studio.
